Dana Holwitt, MD FACS

Dr. Holwitt comes to Montclair Breast Center having completed a Fellowship in Breast Surgical Oncology at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. She graduated Cum Laude from Colgate University and earned her medical degree from Virginia Commonwealth University/Medical College of Virginia where she was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. During her residency, also at Virginia Commonwealth University, Dr. Holwitt was elected Surgical Intern of the Year and won the Basic Science Research Award. As a breast surgeon Fellow, Dr. Holwitt was invited to deliver two presentations at the 2008 American Society of Breast Surgeons Meeting and was awarded the Best Scientific Presentation Award for manuscripts that will be published in the American Journal of Surgery.

Most recently Dr. Holwitt was selected as one of the New Jersey Doctors Who Make a Difference by New Jersey Life Health & Beauty, (May 2011) was the feature story in New Jersey Monthly’s NJ’s Top Doctors issue (Nov. 2010) was keynote speaker at the annual Young Survival Coalition dinner (May 2011) and a special guest on 12 to Your Health, News12 NJ, airing July 4th and 5th, 2011. Dr. Holwitt, along with colleague Dr. Nancy Elliott, was invited to attend the first ever Nipple Sparing Mastectomy Conference. (Feb. 2011)

Dr. Holwitt grew up in Montclair, NJ and attended Montclair Kimberly Academy. She has longstanding ties to the community and looks forward to providing high quality, personalized breast health care in this area for many years to come.

Dr. Holwitt likes to travel and enjoys sampling local and ethnic cuisines.
